I’ve been following a story in Louisiana that has received a bit of coverage though mainly local coverage. Nanette Watson Krentel, 49, died in a fire in her home in St. Tammany Parish, north of New Orleans, on Friday, July 14, 2017. Nanette was home alone with her beloved pets. A retired preschool teacher, she was married with no children of her own though she had one stepson. The fire that broke out at Nanette’s home was massive, engulfing not just her home but her car and RV on the property. The house was completely destroyed and actually collapsed. Nanette was identified through DNA. The investigation of the fire came under intense criticism. Apparently, the lead investigator was not experienced in arson investigation which could have compromised some of the scene. The scene wasn’t secured immediately, further compromising potential evidence….
