I. A wrongful conviction case that is playing out in Houston, Texas right now has caught my attention. It’s not a typical wrongful conviction where biological evidence is tested and DNA results prove the wrong guy was prosecuted. This case relies on eye witness testimony and phone records. Alfred Dewayne Brown was convicted of killing a Houston police officer who responded to a robbery in progress at a check cashing store on April 3, 2003. Along with Brown, two other men were arrested, one of whom shot and killed the store clerk. One of those men took a plea deal and testified against the other two who were both convicted and sentenced to death.
