Steven Avery, sentenced to life for the 2005 murder of Theresa Halbach, is appealing his conviction again. After the Netflix series Making a Murderer raised questions about the merits of Avery’s conviction, Illinois attorney Kathleen Zellner agreed to represent him. The highly-anticipated brief to be filed today could contain some interesting allegations. Zellner is known for her representation of the wrongfully convicted. She has succeeded in obtaining 18 exonerations.
