Couch not present. Case continued one month because parents were not properly notified of the hearing. Couch withdraws petition challenging his extradition.

Outcome: Defense attorneys cross examine informant. Hearing is continued until Feb. 23 at 1:30 pm. It's expected to last about 3 hours on that day.

Outcome of hearing: Judge delays her trial. No date yet--pending appeal by Porter. Judge denies state's request to compel Porter's testimony at trials of Nero, Miller and Rice.

Update: Merritt fires his defense team of 4 headed by Mettias. There's a hearing next week to determine who will now represent him.
