Dalia Dippolito's California attorney, Brian Claypool, held a press conference at the conclusion of the motion to dismiss hearing last month. Claypool suggested that if the judge denied the motion, he was buckling to sensationalism and community pressure. The motion was, indeed, denied on March 2, 2016. On the same day, the judge issued an order to show cause why Claypool should be allowed to continue representing Dippolito in light of apparent violations of the Florida Code of Professional Responsibility that governs attorneys' conduct.  The order to show cause is on the Dippolito page under documents. Blankenship, the former CEO of Massey Energy, was convicted last December of a misdemeanor--conspiring to violate safety regulations--after an April 5, 2010 coal mine explosion killed 29 of his employees in West Virginia. The jury acquitted him of 2 other counts, both of which were felonies. Today he was sentenced to one year in federal prison and fined $250,000. He will also be on one year of supervised release after serving his sentence.

Harris is charged with murder after leaving his 22-month-old son in a hot Georgia car in June 2014. Harris went to work and discovered his son dead hours later. He says it was an accident; that he forgot to drop off his son at daycare.  Jury selection in Cobb County, GA is scheduled to begin this day.

Camille Cosby, Bill Cosby's wife, is to continue her deposition begun in February. Today's testimony will be given in Boston; in February, the parties met in Springfield. Her testimony is related to a defamation suit against her husband by a number of women who claim he sexually assaulted them years ago.

Robert Durst received a 7 year prison sentence after pleading guilty in federal court to possession of gun charges in Louisiana. He is expected to transfer to California by mid-August where the LA District Attorney will proceed with a murder case against him.
