Last October the Supreme Court of the U.S. (SCOTUS) heard argument in a Kansas death penalty case known as the Wichita Massacre. (I discussed it in the 10/16/15 BK Live at about the 9 minute mark.) In brief, over the course of a week in December 2000, two brothers, Reginald and Jonathan Carr, went on a murderous crime spree ultimately killing five people and a dog, kidnapping, raping, robbing and more. At one home they broke into, the Carrs found five young people who were spending the night. The Carrs forced them to have sex with each other then raped the women. After brutalizing them, the brothers drove the nearly naked five men and women to a snow-covered field and shot them as they knelt in the snow.
