*****UPDATE on Monday, Jan. 11: The Maryland Court of Special Appeals just stayed Caesar Goodson’s trial–just as jury selection was about to get underway today. Stay tuned for more updates. I’m interviewing a former Assistant State’s Attorney this afternoon about the Freddie Gray cases so check back for the new podcast in the late afternoon. UPDATE: The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the trial is going forward on Monday. The appellate court order simply stays the testimony of Porter (for now) but it doesn’t affect the trial. This is according to the court’s spokesperson, Terri Charles. Also, since I posted this blog a few hours ago, the State has filed its response to Porter’s petition for an injunction pending appeal.
